Brief

To design The characters for a potential animated story of Willie first visit to the zoo and meeting Cornelius the silver back Gorilla. The visual style will reflect characters made of worn out material. old Stitches falling apart and buttons falling off etc. using CG processes.

The setting will be an old derelict zoo. Due to high maintenance demands and the cost of looking after the animals the zoo has fallen into hard times. The visual style of the characters will be made out of old knitted fabrics and have a Burtonesque/Bagpuss quality. falling apart characters with seams coming apart and buttons as eyes etc. I want the characters to have an old toy like quality with a slightly dark edge emphasising an adventure experience rather then a spectator sport. The characters I will be concentrating on are;

Cornelius

A middle aged silver back Gorilla, the most civilised and sensible occupant and

Willie Billiams - A hyperactive nine year old on his first visit to London Zoo.
